Butterfly reserve

On Sunday we went to the Butterfly Reserve in Panajachel. It is so beautiful there. Unfortunately, the butterflies were being moved to a new home so we didn't get to see them. But we did go for a long walk on the pathways, it is like walking in a rainforest. Lush and beautiful. There is a part where there are spider monkeys. The girls loved seeing the monkeys. We bought bananas to feed them but Aleeya thought it was better for her to eat the banana than throw it to a monkey!


Zoe had her friend, Josefina with us. The girls like walking on the swing bridges.

This was the first pinata that she had ever done by herself and here is the huge amount of lollies that she managed to grab!

First Report Card..

Aleeya's first report card and it was a glowing one!
The teacher said that " Aleeya has adapted well to school. She is a sweet, intelligent and happy girl. It is a pleasure to have her as a student".
She got a "very good" in everything except "listening when others speak - she only got a "good" .
She is so happy going to Pana Kids. She actually could start school next year in September at Zoe's school but we are going to keep her another year at Pana Kids.

#1 cake!

Here is our dessert at the back, I put a photo of Aleeya making the cake on it so that there was proof that she actually did a lot of it herself.
It was anxious moments when the judging was going on.!
But we won!!!! Aleeya was so happy to get a pink medal pinned on her dress.

























She also won a prize for her painting!

family day

Zoe came along for Family Day and she and Aleeya had to paint a picture to put into the painting competition. Laura, Aleeya's friend decided to help them out.

It was very cute. Aleeya took her duties very seriously the whole time.



This is the dress that you sent her Mum, I love this dress on her. After the pre-school she went home and found the bleach, and unfortunately poured it on the front of her dress, so it no longer looks like this. :( I am glad I got these photos before it went away forever!

Aleeya and I had to make a cake together for her pre-school Family Day.
Luckily, we had Mathilda's great recipe for a no bake cake. Not only does it taste great but it is really easy to do.

Aleeya loved making the cake and of course, the best thing is getting to lick the cream off the beaters.


We actually won first prize at the competition for this cake! My first and only time ( I am sure ) that I will win a prize for cooking!

Gloria's 36th Birthday party.

Aleeya was very happy to celebrate Gloria's birthday with her. She couldn't wait to see if Gloria was going to get her face pushed into the cake - Guatemalan Style !
Yep - she did!!!





















Aleeya just had to help Gloria with all the hard work of unwrapping the presents!

weekend at the pool.

We went to the pool at the big hotel here both days of the week end.
The pool is great, has a shallow end for little ones that is separate.
Aleeya loves to swim! They also have a Kids Club where the kids can go and do crafts. Aleeya loves going in there to paint and make crafts.

Over the week end she was the only child in the Kids Club so she got lots of attention from the people working there.

After that she was watering the plants with the pool water. Zoe took her friend Josefina with her to the pool. They have all sorts of loud activities during the week end at the pool, lots of music and games. It is a lot of fun for Zoe , I prefer during the week when it is quiet but unfortunately, they only heat the pool during the week end.......it is still o.k. on Monday but by Wed. and Thurs. it is getting quite chilly!
